New Omani market entrant Nawras announced it launched commercial services in the country on Wednesday. Nawras becomes the second GSM operator in the market joining incumbent operator OmanTel. Nawras is a joint venture between Qatar Telecom, Denmark's TDC and prominent Omani partners. Oman has a population of over 2.9 million and a mobile penetration rate of 25.8%.
