(PRWEB) February 4, 2005 -- Tim Baskerville has taken the helm as President of 35-year old media business analyst firm, Kagan Research, LLC. Baskerville brings to Kagan an experienced hand in developing its publishing, consulting and events businesses. The Monterey, California-based firm serves the media, communications and entertainment sectors.

Kagan Research provides data and analysis of financial and tech developments, industry projections, trend tracking, and business valuations for hundreds of privately held and publicly traded media and communications companies — via consulting services, newsletters, analyst reports and sector-focused databooks.

Baskerville successfully grew and sold several publishing and research businesses over the last 15 years. Most recently Baskerville ran his own consulting firm advising media-related companies on product development, strategy and execution. He had founded and was CEO of London-based Baskerville Communications, a leading provider of information, analysis and consulting services in the entertainment, electronic media and wireless industries. Baskerville Communications was acquired by Informa Group PLC in 1999. Baskerville was also President and Publisher of Vidmar Communications, a Phillips Publishing subsidiary that pioneered analysis and primary research in the home entertainment industry. Early in his career he served as an editor at Kagan and as a journalist, columnist, editor and producer for such organizations as CBS, Cox Broadcasting, Billboard, Radio News West and Television News, Inc.

"Kagan truly created the tools to analyze and forecast the whole landscape of new media and content, from the early days of cable TV to the Internet age. It's an honor to carry that tradition into a new growth era at Kagan Research," said Baskerville.
