CANNES, France, February 14/PRNewswire/ -- fastmobile, a leader in mobile instant communications solutions, marked the occasion of the annual 3GSM World Congress by announcing their addition of J2ME MIDP2.0 to their portfolio of handset platforms.

Coming to J2ME handsets are a range of fastmobile's rich solution offerings; from multimedia Instant Messaging and presence-based address book applications to instant media and content exchange and multimedia blogging and community applications.

fastmobile's CEO, Kang Lee, commented, "We're very pleased to now offer mobile network operators and service providers the ability to deliver branded, differentiated value-added data services on the industry's leading programmable handset platform."

The announcement builds on fastmobile's already strong suite of handset platforms which include Symbian Series 60 and UIQ, Microsoft Pocket PC and Smartphone, and Brew. Additionally, fastmobile offers a bespoke porting program designed for delivering customized solutions as native embedded applications to lower end handsets. Based upon a highly portable C kernel encapsulating core fastmobile functionality, the porting program allows rapid implementation onto a service provider's preferred handset platform.

fastmobile invites attendees to the 3GSM World Congress to visit them at their stand G8 in Hall 2.
